About Me
- About Me: First and foremost, I am a follower of Jesus. I try my best to live peacefully and love unconditionally. I am a stay-at-home unschooling mama to FOUR kiddos. I have a sweet little baby boy, a 6-year old daughter, a 4-year old daughter, and a 13-year old step-daughter. Yep- I've got my hands full! I am married to an artist, so that keeps life around here interesting and beautiful. He is the most amazing guy- always supportive, loving, and nurturing, constantly challenging me to think more deeply and keep on growing further outside of the box. ;) He is truly my soul mate. I am a quiet, contemplative, deep person...an introvert...passionate about ALOT of things- so I spend most of my free time at home reading and studying, listening to music, and spending time with my family.
Books
- Favorite Books: "Irresistible Revolution" by Shane Claiborne
- Favorite Quotes: "We can do no great things..only small things with great love." - Mother Teresa "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." -Gandhi "What had lasting significance were not the miracles themselves but Jesus’ love. Jesus raised his friend Lazarus from the dead, and a few years later, Lazarus died again. Jesus healed the sick, but they eventually caught some other disease. He fed the ten thousands, and the next day they were hungry again. But we remember his LOVE. It wasn’t that Jesus healed a leper, but that he touched a leper, because no one touched lepers." -Shane Claiborne "If all the money that is being spent on finding ways to kill people was used instead to feed them and house them, clothe them and educate them- how beautiful that would be. We are too often afraid of sacrifices we might have to make. But where there is true love, there is joy and peace." -Mother Teresa “When I fed the hungry, they called me a saint. When I asked WHY people are hungry, they called me a communist.” -Dom Helder Camara "We try and make the world safe...knowing that the world will never BE safe as long as millions live in poverty so a few can live as they wish." -Shane Claiborne "The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
